Our befriendees and befrienders all contribute to our charity in different ways. They give time, energy, experience and knowledge to our cause.
To be able to resonate with our cause to reduce loneliness, our volunteers have either experienced loneliness themselves or have known somebody who has experienced the negative aspects of loneliness.
One of our befriendees, Jan, recently assisted Suzanne with an interview for a new volunteer befriender.
This was a new experience for Jan. He enjoyed meeting the interviewee and showed her around the premises. Jan reflected that this is life and a new experience and without this experience, he would be sitting at home just watching TV. He is a firm believer that taking part in new experiences is stimulating.
Jan has invited more experiences such as these.
